Anxiety.

Anxiety, even writing the word makes me anxious. It is an apart of being human, easily broken and vulnerable as well as the opportunity to triumphantly arise to journey of freedom. When faced with the daily stress of interacting with both the internal and external world Anxiety is never something to avoid but rather an opportunity to take on responsibility in the ongoing commitments of life. Even the Buddha, went on a quest to seek the end to suffering, if he didn’t have stress over the mundane then perhaps he wouldn’t have left his palace walls. When one can step outside their own palace gates or egoic mask one can then inquire deeper into reality and find the purpose to their lives. Getting uncomfortable will create big waves of trusting transformative changes.

good quote

To be whole, let yourself break.
To be straight, let yourself bend.
To be full, let yourself be empty.
To be new, let yourself wear out.
To have everything, give everything up.
Knowing others is a kind of knowledge;
knowing yourself is wisdom.
Conquering others requires strength;
conquering yourself is true power.
To realize that you have enough is true wealth.
Pushing ahead may succeed,
but staying put brings endurance.
Die without perishing, and find the eternal.
To know that you do not know is strength.
Not knowing that you do not know is a sickness.
The cure begins with the recognition of the sickness.
Knowing what is permanent: enlightenment.
Not knowing what is permanent: disaster.
Knowing what is permanent opens the mind.
Open mind, open heart.
Open heart, magnanimity."

The Science of Meditation

Science hasn’t been around for as many thousands of as Buddhism has, however man’s quest for greater meaning in life at been at the forefront of both. What has Buddhism provided for science? Conversely what has science given to Buddhism? Perhaps the model of science is set to be seen as more linear, logical, and rational associated with the left hemispheric view of life whereas spirituality can been seen more as an intuitive, creative, and spontaneous correlating to more greater interactions to the right hemispheric side. Where can both worlds exist and have inter-hemispheric resonance. Is the cortex the answer?
